Brazilian biodiesel production up 22% through July

In Brazil, biodiesel production increased 22% through July this year to 65,000 barrels per day, up from 53,000 barrels during the same period in 2014. Production is increasing, with July’s average reaching 68,000 barrels, up 10% on July 2014’s 62,000 barrels per day. The mines and energy ministry estimate that during 2015, renewable energy will account for more than 40% of the country’s energy mix, up from just over 39% last year. About 74% of the country’s electricity supply comes from renewable sources.
