Australian company swamps fleet for 13 Scania biodiesel vehicles to use its own fuel

October 8, 2015 |

In Australia, Peats Soil has ordered 13 vehicles from Scania, a mix of 480 hp six-cylinder trucks and some V8-powered 560 hp prime movers that are to run on 100% biodiesel supplied from the company’s own facility. It is aiming to produce 1 million liters per year from residual wash-down water it collects from food manufacturers. The company uses 1.3 million liters annually to fuel its fleet, so the new solution will allow it to cover most of its fuel uses internally.
