CoBank says bumper corn crop will help Nebraska’s ethanol and livestock industries

October 8, 2015 |

In Nebraska, CoBank says a bumper corn crop will weigh on prices but that will be good news for ethanol producers as well as the livestock industry who has suffered from high feed prices in recent years. Growth in the meat industry is growing at its fastest pace in nearly 40 years. Ethanol and DDGS exports will play a major role during the upcoming crop as low prices ensure competitiveness overseas. China remains the main DDGS export destination with Mexico also providing major demand.
