CropEnergies’ ethanol production falls 11% March to August on Ensus shutdown

October 8, 2015 |

In Germany, CropEnergies’ ethanol production is down more than 11% during the March to August period at just 422,000 cubic meters, compared to the 478,000 cu m produced during the same period last year. The Ensus ethanol plant has been mothballed since February which contributed to much of the loss in volume. The company says the 7% cap on conventional biofuels in Europe, rather than the 6% cap the European Parliament was fighting for, should help boost demand around the region.
