Indian government exempts biodiesel inputs from excise duty

October 20, 2015 |

In India, the government has adjusted tax rates to exclude the inputs for biodiesel production from excise duty effective immediately, namely on RBD Palm Stearin, Methanol and Sodium Methoxide. The government has recently increased its effort to support the production, supply and use of biodiesel in transport although a broad blending policy is not yet in place beyond 3%. Indian Railways recently announced a move towards B20, however.
