European Investment Bank may invest in biodiesel plant in Croatia

October 26, 2015 |

In Luxembourg, the European Investment Bank is evaluating a EUR38 million investment in a EUR50 million biodiesel plant in Croatia that would produce fuel from animal fats and used cooking oil. The facility is to be sited at a port that is near a nature protection area. The EIA was completed in 2013 and all main environmental permits have been granted. Though the project promoter hasn’t been identified, the bank has said it is a private company that does not operate as a utility or a contracting entity.
