Ringneck Energy moving forward with build despite court case and still raising funds

October 27, 2015 |

In South Dakota, Ringneck Energy is starting construction this week despite an appeals process going on in a local court case where some community members in Onida accused the county leaders of inappropriately granting the company a special use permit to build an ethanol plant. A county vote over the summer approved the permit with 78% voting in favor. The company has raised nearly $30 million so far and is holding investor meetings around the state to raise the other $70 million in equity required for the $140 million facility.
