Bunge still believes and Brazilian sugar and ethanol despite tough year

In Brazil, strong demand for ethanol and the expectation the trend will continue has Bunge taking a positive view towards its sugar and ethanol operations in the country despite weak third quarter results. The company expects that despite a tiny operating profit of only $3 million for the Brazilian sugar and ethanol segment, down from a $44 million profit last year, ethanol prices have rallied 25% in the past month and should therefore help to end the year strong with positive free cash flow.
