Brazilian senate committee OKs higher biodiesel blend

November 12, 2015 |

In Brazil, on Nov. 11 a special senate committee unanimously approved an increase to the biodiesel blending mandate to 7%, increasing again to 10% in three years. Proposals are also under way to see B15 eventually in road transport as well as 20% blending for public transport. The public transport side of the proposal is only applicable to cities with more than 500,000 residents. With the committee approval, the bill will now move to the House of Representatives for consideration.
