Oshawa city council says ethanol plant still not welcome

November 16, 2015 |

In Canada, Oshawa city council has reaffirmed its opposition to a proposed ethanol plant at the city’s port in hopes of paving the way for residential development in a redeveloped marina. The area is already zoned high density residential but the council feels investors haven’t put forth proposals due to fear of a potential ethanol plant in the area that would drive away any potential residents. The country’s new prime minister apparently visited the town two years ago and agreed with the anti-ethanol stance of the community.
