Malaysia’s November exports shrink to a trickle but 2015 total still up from 2014

December 10, 2015 |

In Malaysia, biodiesel exports collapsed in November to just 82 metric tons, down from 11,334 tons exported in October or the 22,753 tons exported in November 2014. The last time so little biodiesel was exported was in October 2012 at just 60 tons. That being said, this year’s exports through November totaled 168,917 tons, up from last year’s 66,740 tons, which includes the tiny exports seen in April of just 186 tons. Low demand in Europe due to palm oil biodiesel’s relatively high cold filter plugging point and low fossil diesel prices leaves little export opportunity for the moment.
