India to give OK for flex-fuel vehicle manufacture before Jan. 26

December 16, 2015 |

In India, the transportation minister has ordered his ministry to put together a policy allowing manufacturers to produce cars that run on any level of ethanol blend up to 100% by Jan. 26. Currently the country is having difficulty supplying the new E10 mandate but the announcement made at a sugar industry event is meant to help encourage sugar producers to boost their ethanol production even further. The minister says the policy has been inspired by the success of flex-fuel cars in Brazil.
