Mexican restaurant giant leads on UCO biodiesel for transport fleet

In Mexico, Corporación Mexicana de Restaurantes has started a used cooking oil recycling program that will see UCO collected from its more than 130 restaurants nationwide turned into biodiesel to power its fleet that supplies ingredients to them. It is the first such initiative among the country’s restaurant industry and could be a trailblazer for others in the industry to follow. The company has recently launched a sustainability department to develop programs meant to help the company achieve its social responsibility goals including improving Mexico City’s environment.
