New Heaven Chemicals already permitting second biodiesel catalyst plant

In Texas, New Heaven Chemicals is already planning to develop a biodiesel catalyst facility in Houston that will rival or be even larger than the 18,000 metric ton facility that will come online in Iowa in February. Permitting is already underway for the Houston sodium methylate facility while manufacturing of the plant itself has already begun. Construction is expected to begin when the Iowa facility is commissioned. The company has been importing sodium methylate into the US from its Saudi Arabian facility for several years and is already looking to expand its to-be-completed Iowa facility with another 6,000 tons.
