French agency finds no traces of antibiotics in DDGS coming from the US

In France, the government’s consumer and fraud watchdog has investigated the use of antibiotics in the production of ethanol for biofuels, a practice that promotes the development of antibiotic resistance in animals. No residues were found in the by-products used in animal feed, despite the warning from the United States. The officers found that one company had resorted to the use of antibiotics to control bacterial growth in the step of distillation but no unauthorized antibiotics was detected among the samples taken.
