Digest Bioeconomy Index opens 2016 with a 1.21 percent loss to 51.33 as ethanol equities fall

The Digest Bioeconomy Index, an index of publicly traded advanced bioeconomy stocks, opened the year with a 1.21 percent loss to 51.33 as ethanol equities fell. For the day, Aemetis (AMTX) lost 4.36 percent to $2.60, while Solzsyme (SZYM) shed 4.02 percent to $2.39.  Among other equities, Biox (BX.T) dumped 23.75 percent to $0.61. Overall, declines led advances by a 7 to 2 ratio for the day.
