Kolmar Americas buys Greenleaf Biofuels boosting hopes for biodiesel investment

In Connecticut, Kolmar Americas has purchased the 15 million gallon Greenleaf Biofuels LLC facility in New Haven, the trading company’s first ever asset and the largest biodiesel producer in New England. Before purchasing what is now known as American GreenFuels LLC, Kolmar had a tolling agreement with the plant. Between the reinstatement of the biodiesel tax credit and a higher blending mandate for biodiesel under the RFS, hopes are that this purchase may be the beginning of a new investment trend in the industry.
