Indonesian palm oil exports probably fell to four-month lows in December

January 11, 2016 |

In Indonesia, continued weak demand from India and China are expected to have pushed palm oil exports to four-month lows in December, potentially down 2.5% from the previous month to around 2.33 million metric tons. The rainy season should end in February, indicating the start of the high output season. Dryness from El Niño has negatively impacted oil palms but a potential La Niña may see the opposite come the second half of 2016 with potential flooding and delays to harvest.
