January 12, 2016 |

In Argentina, the government has raised the price that oil companies must pay in January for ethanol by 5% for both sugarcane- and corn-based fuel, the highest price fluctuation allowed by law. Oftentimes the ministry has boosted the price of sugarcane ethanol more than corn-based ethanol. The country’s E10 policy has helped support increased ethanol production, with the ministry of energy estimating a 22% production increase in September to 73,144 metric tons and increased consumption of 66,908 tons, up more than 27%.
