CropEnergies warns investors about “significant” drop in European ethanol prices

January 12, 2016 |

In Germany, CropEnergies has warned investors that a “significant” drop in ethanol prices will have negative consequences on its bottom line during 2016/17 with just EUR30 million in operating profit expected if prices remain the same, but that could increase to EUR70 million if the market situation improves. The company’s Ensus ethanol plant in the UK remains offline due to low prices, which has cut revenues by a quarter but facilitated operating profits of EUR23.73 million.
