Brazilian environment ministry joins UCO project

January 13, 2016 |

In Brazil, the Ministry of Environment is demonstrating good practices by starting a used oil collection facility at the ministry building in Brasilia that will then be transformed into biodiesel. The collected oil will be processed at the 1,000 liter per day biodiesel facility next to the Environmental Sanitation Company of the Federal District (Caesb) Buriti Palace that is undergoing commissioning. Caesb also has other collection points throughout the capital. The agency is working with Embrapa Agroenergy to determine the destination of the biodiesel produced, but it will likely be for the federal city’s fleet.
