European ethanol prices remain supported by lack of supply

January 14, 2016 |

In the Netherlands, a lack of supply from European producers and few imports from the US continue to support ethanol prices in Europe, with little change expected in the near future. The amount of supply to come from European producers is unknown due to lower sugarbeet production in France stymying production while trains from Eastern Europe are limited as those producers focus on supply local markets. Storage tanks in Rotterdam are near empty but no one is running the risk of falling short on supply.
