Indian auto industry worried about foreign competition if flex-fuel policy implemented

January 18, 2016 |

In India, the indigenous automobile industry is concerned about the new flex-fuel policy that will be released before Jan. 29 because it will take manufacturers the better part of a year to sort out flex-fuel technology while international manufacturers already selling in Brazil will have a head start. Additional costs will be passed on to the consumer to make up for the additional manufacturing line, which in turn could make them uncompetitive against the international auto makers.
