UK looking to boost biofuel blending under revised RTFO

In the UK, the Transport Secretary plans to put forward more use of renewable fuels in transport under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation as part of his attempts to decarbonize transport. A taskforce within the ministry set up last year determined that E10 and likely higher biodiesel blends were going to be required in order to achieve the European directive on blending by 2020. As a result, the RTFO is going to undergo a public consultation this year to prepare and move the policy forward.
