GPP and Delek US seek planning permission for $12 million ethanol transfer facility

January 21, 2016 |

In Arkansas, Green Plains Partners and Delek US are seeking planning permission to build a $12 million ethanol transfer facility in Maumelle that would include 4.3 million gallon ethanol storage tank that would be filled by 216 rail cars monthly and would be moved out by 20 to 25 tanker trucks a day, thanks to the location’s proximity to Highways 30 and 40. Residents have called for a town hall meeting to discuss the project, the date for which has not yet been set, while city officials are planning a visit to Birmingham to see how fire fighters deal with potential risks from the ethanol transfer site there that would be similar to the one proposed.
