Nebraskan ethanol plants running at break even or negative margins but no mothballing in sight

In Nebraska, many ethanol plants are running at break even following the fall of gasoline prices but beyond standard closures for repairs and maintenance, there are no expectations of widespread mothballing for now. Higher corn prices are also pressuring margins further, pushing some into negative territory for now. Some ethanol plants are expected to slow down production as margins weaken, which will have some impact on ethanol inventories but it’s not meant to be much.
