Yuma County approves new biodiesel rules but doesn’t want to limit larger plants

February 2, 2016 |

In Arizona, Yuma County’s board of supervisors has approved new biodiesel regulations but supervisors want to make sure that when the rules are implemented they do not discourage plants of over 500,000 gallons per year from locating in the county. Planners said the larger facilities must site in”intensive industrial” or “heavy industrial” zones, with those in the latter category requiring a special use permit. Facilities seeking to locate in rural areas of the county must be limited to the half million gallon cap.
