In Brazil, the National Petroleum Agency said ethanol consumption was 1.55 billion liters of hydrous ethanol in December and 1.04 billion liters anhydrous, up 13% over November and 7% over the same period last year. Total ethanol consumption for 2015 reached 28.7 billion liters, up 19% from 2014 and the highest on record.
The agency also announced it sold 639.6 million liters of biodiesel at its most recent auction in January with 100% of the fuel holding the social seal. The fuel was sold at a 19% discount to the maximum price allowed.
