European T2 ethanol prices down 10% since start of the year

February 9, 2016 |

In the Netherlands, prices for T2 ethanol have fallen nearly 10% since the start of the year as slow, seasonal demand keeps buyers from the market. Last Friday, prices fell to their lowest since June, 2015 but even so, prices were still $90 per cubic meter higher than in early February, 2015. Though the European ethanol market remains under-supplied due to longer-term closures at plants such as the CropEnergies plant in the UK, incoming supplies from the US and Central America are weighing on prices on top of weakened seasonal demand.
