Poet shortens corn receiving hours and shuts down plants temporarily

In Indiana and Ohio, Poet has shortened the hours during which it receives corn at six of its facilities in the two states, while the Alexandria, Indiana facility will be shut for two days next week for maintenance. Those that reduced their hours have already been shut down for a day or two this week as well. Though the company refused to comment on margins or the reasons for the shut downs, it did say last month that it would expand production at plants in Iowa, Michigan and South Dakota rather than seek to offload ethanol assets like ADM recently announced.
