EPA administrator tells House ag committee agency working hard to approve feedstocks

In Washington, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy told the House Committee on Agriculture at a hearing on Feb. 11 her agency has been working hard to approve new feedstock pathways including LCAs on new feedstocks to help farmers benefit from the Renewable Fuel Standard. She recognized that renewable volume obligations for 2014 through 2016 were below statutory levels but felt that getting to the volumes set out by Congress were not possible in the short term, especially for cellulosic fuels.
