Former Fagen Engineering CFO admits to embezzling $4.5 million

In Minnesota, a former CFO at Fagen Engineering has confessed to the FBI she created a fictitious ethanol company in Nebraska called Fairmont Investments LLC to help her allegedly embezzle $4.5 million and buy homes, cars and other assets in her and her husband’s name. She worked in the accounting department at Fagen Engineering since 2004, opened the fake company in 2006 and was promoted to CFO in 2013, but was terminated in November while irregularities with Fairmont Investments were discovered in December.
