February 22, 2016 |

In Washington, the Senate’s Environment and Public Works Committee is set to hold a hearing on the Renewable Fuel Standard on Wednesday so ahead of the meeting the anti-ethanol group American Council for Capital Formation has begun airing ads in the Washington area saying that Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s success in Iowa demonstrates that voters no longer want to support the biofuel policy.

Janet McCabe, the acting assistant administrator for the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation; Howard Gruenspecht, deputy administrator at the Energy Information Administration; Lucian Pugliaresi, president of the Energy Policy Research Foundation; Ronald Minsk, an energy policy consultant who once advised President Obama on energy policy; and Brooke Coleman, executive director of the Advanced Biofuels Business Association are set to speak at Wednesday’s hearing.
