Democrats and Republicans clash over RFS at Senate hearing

In Washington, the Senate Environment and Public Works hearing held Wednesday about Renewable Fuel Standard oversight saw both Democrats and Republicans sparring over the controversial policy. The committee’s Republican chairman said the EPA had hurt everyone in the supply chain from farmers to blenders in their mismanagement of the policy, calling it unstable. The Democratic ranking member of the committee wants to see the RFS kept in place but acknowledged that the EPA’s administration of the law needs a lot of improvement.
