Pacific Ethanol pays last $17 million installment on West Coast plant debt

In California, Pacific Ethanol has at last paid of the last of its plant debit with a $17 million payment, though the company still holds $190 million in debt not associated with the West Coast plants as of the end of Q3. The company managed to buy the four ethanol plants back after they were forced to hand them over to lenders in exchange for forgiveness of $200 million in debt back in 2009 when the company was forced into Chapter 11 by low ethanol prices.
