Missouri corn producers fighting for extension of ethanol producer incentive fund

March 15, 2016 |

In Missouri, the state’s corn producers association is working hard to fight opponents to a bill that would extend the Missouri Qualified Fuel Ethanol Producer Incentive Fund that comes up for a vote as soon as Thursday in the state’s House of Representatives. Those against the bill don’t want the government choosing winners, instead wanting a free market for fuel, but the corn producers contend there is no free market in energy and as such are at a disadvantage against fossil fuels.
