Brazilian hydrous ethanol prices fall nearly 5% as crush ramps up

March 29, 2016 |

In Brazil, the early start to the crush has already had the expected impact on ethanol prices, falling 4.7% in the past week for hydrous to $1.92 per gallon. Buyers are holding back from the market, buying only what they need for a few days and then returning when they need more as they expect prices to fall significantly as the crush ramps up. The early stages of the crush is typically heavy on ethanol production rather than sugar due to rains.
