Indonesia blends 30.5% more biodiesel through February

March 31, 2016 |

In Indonesia, high palm oil prices have not dampened demand for blending as demonstrated in the first two months of the year when consumption rose 30.5% at 519,000 kiloliters of biodiesel. This year, the B20 blend is expected to drive consumption to 3.2 million kiloliters, with Pertamina alone absorbing 2.5 million kiloliters of the total. Despite concerns about high prices and not reaching the blending mandate, if consumption keeps up the pace set in January and February then the target should be reached.
