Summit Agricultural Group breaks ground on Brazil’s first corn ethanol plant

April 4, 2016 |

In Brazil, Summit Agricultural Group has broken ground on its corn ethanol production facility, Brazil’s first dedicated corn ethanol plant. The $115 million facility is expected to be completed mid-2017 and will produce 50 million gallons annually for Brazilian markets in addition to high-value feed for the Brazilian livestock industry. Summit expects the facility to begin to offset the county’s increasing demand for sugarcane, as demand for ethanol continues to grow.

Partners for the project include Brazilian agribusiness Fiagril and U.S. infrastructure private equity firm Tiger Infrastructure Partners.
