Nigeria issues call for strategic biofuels investors to implement projects

In Nigeria, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has launched a call for strategic investors to fund and operate a variety of biofuels projects it has developed under the automotive biofuels industry program. One such project includes a sugarcane ethanol facility with at least 50,000 ha for cane already secured. The projects, which would be implemented under special purpose vehicles where NNPC would own 20-30%, already have completed site-specific, bankable, detailed feasibility studies undertaken by international firms.
