Iowa’s 2015 biofuel production soards

In Iowa, a report from the state’s department of revenue found during 2015 the amount of E10 gasoline sold equaled 1,319.4 million gallons, E85 gasoline sold equaled 13.2 million gallons, E20 gasoline sold equaled 2.5 million gallons, and E15 gasoline sold equaled 6.2 million gallons, with 90.3% sold through registered pumps.

Combined, the five ethanol blends represented 85.9% of total reported gasoline fuel sales during the year. 2,102 (95.2%) of the 2,207 locations that sold gasoline sold one or more ethanol blend. Total diesel gallons reported were 827.8 million gallons and total biodiesel gallons were 342.0 million gallons; therefore, biodiesel blended gallons accounted for 41.3 percent of diesel gallons sold by reporting retailers.
