Brazilian ethanol production triples during the end of March

In Brazil, the volume of sugarcane crushed during the second half of March was nearly triple that seen last year at 14 million metric tons during which time ethanol production doubled to 581.5 million liters form 222.4 million liters last year. Ethanol production accounted for 66.6% of cane crushed during the period, compared to 70% of the cane crushed during the same time last year, which could be an early indication of mills looking to produce more sugar in light of higher sugar prices.
