Pertamina and AKR Corporindo will only buy 1.6 billion liters of biodiesel between May and October

April 18, 2016 |

In Indonesia, Pertamina and AKR Corporindo will only buy 1.6 billion liters of biodiesel between May and October compared to 1.87 billion liters sourced between November and April. The drop in purchases is in line with falling demand due to low diesel prices, despite the Estate Crop Fund agency reimbursing the price difference. Last year’s consumption fell to 863 million liters from 1.78 billion liters in 2014. This year’s blend is meant to reach 20% but the target is likely to be missed.
