April 25, 2016 |

In China, ethanol imports jumped again in March more than doubling their February figure to 99,661 cu m thanks to a boost in trade from the US. Nearly all of the volume was denatured and came from the US with small bits from Japan, Europe and South Korea sprinkled in. Imports during Q1 are more than 25 times higher than during the same period in 2015 at 191,402 cu m. A rumored increase in import tariffs led to increased buying in January but later nothing came of it.
