North Dakota industrial sugar beet plans on hold

In North Dakota, Green Vision Group has put on hold its ambitions to develop industrial sugar beet processing plants around the state to produce ethanol and chemicals, saying that the costs to store sugarbeets and syrup are too high, making the price of sugars for feedstock in turn too high. The company has communicated to farmers who had demonstrated interest in growing the crop for the new processing facilities that it will be at least another year until the logistics are sorted out.
