Green Plains expects 2016 ethanol exports to hold steady vs. 2015

In Nebraska, Green Plains said its 2016 ethanol exports are expected to hover around the same levels as 2015 at between 800 million gallons and 1 billion gallons. Brazil’s current sugarcane crush and its relation to ethanol prices will be a major driver for exports coming into the next quarter, determining whether Brazil is competitive with the US on the world market. Sales during the first quarter started off well this year but eased off as the Brazilian crush ramped up.
