US ethanol production drops to 14.29 billion gallon annual clip

According to EIA data as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 923,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 38.77 million gallons daily. That is down 4,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 932,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 14.29 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 22.2 million barrels. That is a 2.6% increase from last week. Imports of ethanol were nonexistent for the 20th straight week. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 399.1 million gallons (9.502 million barrels) daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 910,000 b/d. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 9.71%.
