Argentina’s biodiesel exports soar under new president’s policies

May 9, 2016 |

In Argentina, the country’s new president has implemented new policies during his first few months in office that has helped agricultural exports, including biodiesel, to soar. Biodiesel exports jumped 107% since coming into office to $126 million. The country is trying to promote value added processing rather than exporting basic commodities so a 30% tax on soybean exports has helped to stall exports to 35 million tons, 30% higher than last year during the same period.
