Kansas biodiesel producer files for Chapter 7 for up to $50 million in debts

In Kansas, the parent company of Green Energy Products and Sedgwick Ventures that owns a 2 million gallon per year biodiesel plant and a 3 million gallon per year renewable diesel facility has filed Chapter 7 liquidation bankruptcy with liabilities between $10 million and $50 million. The biodiesel plant was destroyed during a fire in July 2013 and never was repaired, while the renewable diesel facility suddenly stopped operations a few months ago without warning.
