California’s biodiesel industry pushing to support governor’s $250 million bill

May 11, 2016 |

In California, the state’s biodiesel alliance and local biofuel industry are supporting the governor’s proposed $250 million budget allotment for supporting low carbon fuels produced within the state. The funding would come from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. Currently, 80% of the biodiesel consumed within the state is imported, which biodiesel proponents say exports jobs away from the state. Industry says the proposal would help level the playing field against other biodiesel producers who benefit from support from their own states and countries.
